Бета-адренергические блокирующие агенты рецепторов (бета-блокаторы ака) могут маскировать симптомы гипогликемии, таких как тремор, тахикардия, изменения артериального давления. Кроме того, неселективные бета-блокаторы (например, пропранолол, пиндолол, Тимолол) могут препятствовать катехоламинов-опосредованной гликогенолиза, тем самым усиливая вызванную инсулином гипогликемию и не задерживает восстановление нормального уровня глюкозы в крови. Поскольку кардиоселективность не является абсолютным, большие дозы бета-1 селективные агенты могут продемонстрировать эти эффекты также. Терапии с применением бета-блокаторы следует назначать с осторожностью у пациентов с сахарным диабетом или предрасположенным к спонтанной гипогликемии.

Тиазидные диуретики могут привести к гипергликемии и глюкозурии у пациентов с сахарным диабетом. Они могут также осадок сахарного диабета у больных преддиабетом. Эти эффекты обычно обратимы после прекращения приема лекарства. Терапии с тиазидными диуретиками следует вводить с осторожностью в больных с сахарным диабетом, нарушение толерантности к глюкозе или предрасположенность к гипергликемии. Пациенты с сахарным диабетом должны более тщательно контролироваться во время тиазидные терапии, и их режим противодиабетических соответствующим образом скорректированы.
